Low carbon based wrought iron high yielding ASTM A860 wphy 70 fittings are chemically composed of metallic elements like - nickel, chromium, molybdenum, manganese, copper, vanadium, titanium, niobium, sulphur, silicon and phosphorus. Addition of these metal elements to the alloy makes it stronger and gives it increased resistance to corrosion. The yield strength of WPHY 70 material is 570 Mpa and its tensile strength is 485 Mpa.
The resistance against corrosion can further be increased by treating the surface of ASTM A860 WPHY 70 elbow to hot galvanization. Besides galvanization, the surface of the A860 WPHY 70 fittings can be coated with anti-corrosion oil or transparent oil.
